We Canadians will be treated to something special today. Morning Star Entertainment is releasing Spider-Man: The Mutant Agenda, a DVD featuring a few episodes from the 1994 Spider-Man series. Morning Star actually has a few superhero releases coming up, but I’ll talk more about those another day.
While this is only a re-release of an old VHS from the late 90s it is nice to see some more of the Spider-Man episodes on DVD since Disney, the current rights holders, doesn’t seem to want to do anything with the property.

Out of all the Spider-Man: TAS VHS releases, Mutant Agenda was the second most popular of the lot (the most popular being the Venom Saga). This is probably because it was a fanboy’s dream come true to see Spidey team up with everyone’s favourite mutants. The X-Men cartoon was at the height of its popularity at the time of this cross-over and the producers of Spider-Man flew the entire X-Men voice cast from Toronto to LA to do the voice sessions for these episodes. The result is one of the most memorable moments in the series.
Included on this disc are two bonus episodes of Iron Man which makes me think that this DVD was released not because of the Spider-Man episodes, but because the Iron Man episodes will tie in to the movie.
If this release is exactly the same as the VHS, here are a list of the episodes on this DVD:
Neogenic Nightmare, Part 4: The Mutant Agenda
Neogenic Nightmare, Part 5: Mutants’ Revenge
Neogenic Nightmare, Part 6: Morbius
Iron Man to the Second Power, Part 1
Iron Man to the Second Power, Part 2
Pick it up today!
